Wayne L. Clement
Capt. Wayne L. Clement, 30, an Army pilot instructor and his student observer, 20-year-old Martin Geisen, of Cincinnati, Ohio were killed July 8, 1970, late Tuesday evening near St. David, Ariz., when their observation plane crashed. The plane crashed a short time after Capt. Clement radioed Libby Army Air Base at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., requesting landing instructions.
Capt. Clement was born July 20, 1939 to Claude D. and Fern (Hurley) Clement in Farnam.
Capt. Clement is survived by his wife, the former Peggy Lind of Farnam; three daughters, Shelley, Kimberly and Cindy; one son, Gary; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude D. Clement, Farnam; six sisters, Mrs. Ora McMichael and Mrs. Eva McMichael, both of Farnam; Mrs. Clara Donner, Gothenburg; Mrs. Liona Hammel, Hastings; Mrs. Deloris Miller, North Platte and Mrs. Dorothy Lange, Arlington, Nebr.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of McVay Funeral Home in Gothenburg. Burial was in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, July 13, 1970.
