Junette M. Clement

Junette Margaret Clement, 77, of North Platte died Oct. 8, 2001 at her home.

She was born June 1, 1924 at Farnam to Herman and Doretha Jasper Ihfe. She graduated from Farnam High School in 1941.

On June 25, 1942, she married Benjamin Clement at Norton, Kan. The couple moved to North Platte in 1950. She worked as a practical nurse at St. Mary's Hospital and Memorial Hospital, both of North Platte, and also for Dr. Asher. After her retirement, she enjoyed being a greeter at K-Mart and later worked at the American Legion in the coat room.

Mrs. Clement was baptized and confirmed at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis and later became a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Platte, where she was a member of the church circle. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed blue rock shooting, crocheting and knitting.

Survivors include three daughters, Claudette (Ron) Halsted of Stapleton, Shirley McDaniel of North Platte and Kathleen (Chris) Buechle of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Robert Robinson, LeAnn Nielsen, Foster McDaniel, Cynthia Cochran, Michael McDaniel and Kiersten Yanken-Hill; two step-grandchildren, Scott and Bryan Halsted; nine great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Erma Holbein of Eustis and Lois Ihfe of San Antonio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 10, 1987, and a brother, Claude Ihfe.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice Endowment or to the church.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Nathan Wadewitz officiating. Burial will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte.
