Benjamin W. Clement
Benjamin Warren Clement, 66, of 1100 South Oak, died Saturday, October 10, 1987, at the North Platte hospital. He was born December 28, 1920 at Farnam to Oliver and Josephine (Hirschmiller) Clement and was raised in Farnam, graduating from Farnam High School in 1940.
He worked as a carpenter in California in the shipyards before joining the U.S. Navy. He was married to Junette Ihfe in Norton, KS in 1942 and moved to North Platte in 1947 where he was a building contractor. He also managed the South Oak Manor for two years.
Mr. Clement was baptized in the Lutheran Church in 1947. He was a member of the Oddfellows and was a past noble grand and was a member of the American Legion and the First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Junette of North Platte; three daughters, Claudette A. (Ron) Halsted, Shirley K. McDaniel and Kathleen J. Ranken, all of North Platte; a brother, Morris Clement of Farnam; sister, Erma (Walter) Holbein of Eustis; two sister-in-laws, Helen Clement of North Platte and Lois Ifhe of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday afternoon at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with the Rev. G. VanBoeing of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Music by Cathleen Wilson and Wayne ?nenborg. Pallbearers were Winslow Welton, Harold Knoebel, Clifford Nickerson, Bill Melvin, ? Larson and Leland Gilbert.
Burial was in the Fort McPherson Nationat Cemetery, south of Maxwell, with military honors and IOOF Walla Walla Lodge rites at gravesite.
