Frances ‘Frankie’ Mable Brown

GOTHENBURG — Frances “Frankie” Mable Brown, 64, of Sidney, formerly of Gothenburg died Feb. 2, 2003, at her home in Sidney.

She was born Dec. 20, 1938, at Maxwell to Howard H. and Edna L. Daniels Major. She grew up in the Brady area and later moved to Hawk Springs, Wyo., to live with her father.

On Aug. 21, 1955, she married Earl D. Brown, and lived on a dairy farm near Maxwell for many years. To this union was born three sons and one daughter. They moved to Farnam in 1971 where she received her L.P.N. Degree in 1976 and worked for the Gothenburg Hospital and the Curtis Nursing Home for many years. She moved to Gothenburg to be closer to her grandchildren in 1987. After the death of her husband in 1995 she moved to Sidney.

Survivors include three sons, Howard (Patty) of Sidney, Joe (Ruth) of Gothenburg and Tim (Tammy) of Cozad; her mother of North Platte; two sisters, Cleona (George) Beran of Wichita, Kan., and Janet Wright of North Platte; 10 grandchildren; a great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by her father; a brother, Virgil O. Major; and a daughter Iva Ann Imler.

Memorials are suggested to the 180 Youth Center in Chappell.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Blase Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg with the Rev. Jack O’Steen officiating. Burial will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell. Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg is in charge.
