Evelyn (Warner) (Crossley) Berry

Evelyn Berry, 82 of Gering went to be with her Lord on Sunday February 15, 2009 at the Mitchell Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. the Jolliffe Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Troy Allen officiating. Burial will follow at the West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Stan Cordingly officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 18th from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Prairie Haven Hospice. Her obituary may be viewed at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com where condolences may be left. Jolliffe Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Evelyn Maxine was born August 9, 1926 in Gothenburg the daughter of Clay and Dessa (Hulen) Warner. She attended school in the Farnum and Moorefield area. On July 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Jack Crossley and they had a little daughter Judy Kay, they went to be with our Lord. On September 9, 1950 she was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony to Dale Berry, they had two children Dennis and Ronda. She has loved and served the Lord with all her heart, she also taught Sunday school for many years. Evelyn also worked for the telephone company taking early retirement in December of 1989. She cherished her family, especially her two granddaughters Jennifer and Alanna Freel, she enjoyed being with her family. Evelyn enjoyed helping others she was a volunteer at the hospital.

She is survived by her son Dennis Berry of Sterling Colo. and daughter Ronda and husband Garry Freel of Thermopolis, Wyo. as well as her granddaughters Jen Freel and Alanna Freel as well as a brother Leland “Bud” (Illa) Warner of North Platte. Nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her little daughter Judy Kay.
