Evalyn Marie Beery
Evalyn Marie Beery, 86, of Palmdale, CA, formerly of Gothenburg, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at the Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, CA.
Services took place Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Lancaster. Burial was at Oakwood Memorial Park at Chatsworth, CA.
Beery was born Oct. 23, 1925, at Elwood, the eighth of 11 children to Charles (Karl) Ferdinand and Goldie Fern (Cooley) Schultz.
Following her education and graduation from Farnam High School, she taught elementary school.
On June 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Loren Marvin Beery of Farnam. The couple resided at Gothenburg where their three children were born.
In 1955, she and her family moved to California, settling in Van Nuys. Following her husband's death, she moved to Palmdale in 1998.
Beery retired after 20 years as a credit supervisor with the Bank of America Van Nuys Main Branch.
She was a member and past commander of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans Women's Auxiliary in Van Nuys.
Beery was also a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church in Palmdale, and previously, she and her husband were active members of the Community Bible Church, formerly the Van Nuys Missionary Church, for 43 years.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Loren in 1997; sons—Jerry Dean in 1980 and Larry Loren in 1955; brothers—Al, Harold, Charles and Bob Schultz; sisters—Elinor Beery, Dorothy Ecker and Helen Linstedt.
Survivors include: her daughter, Sharon (Jim L.) Randall of Palmdale; daughter-in-law, Kathy Beery of Camarillo, CA; grandchildren: Jennifer Beery (Roland) Macasieb of Camarillo, Jim W. (Irma) Randall of Lancaster, Chris (Cindi) Beery of Los Alamos, CA, and Sheri Randall (Danny) Simpson of Post Falls, ID; great grandchildren: Emily and Sarah Macasieb, Christina and Miranda Randall and Kyle Barrett, Kevin, Cassidy, and Ryan Beery, Nicole, Kayla, Erica and Kimberlee Simpson; brothers: Bill (Marlene) Schultz of West Covina, CA, and Roger Schultz of Norfolk; a sister, Betty (Lee) Spann of Norwalk, CA; sisters-in-law: Esther Schultz of Norwalk and Francis Schultz of Gothenburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
