Joe Banzhaf

Joe Dale Banzhaf, 46, of Bertrand died Monday in an Omaha Hospital.

He was born July 15, 1939, in Frontier County. He grew up and attended school in Frontier County near Stockville. He married Sharon Weiss in 1957, and after living in various locations in Nebraska, he moved to Eustis in 1973. He managed the Eustis Co-op for nine years before moving to Bertrand where he was employed by Speedway Trucking Co. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1983. He is survived by one son, Jeffery, a student at Kearney State College; two daughters, Debbie Banzhaf of Omaha and Brenda Banzhaf of Eustis; two brothers, Don Banzhaf and Delba Banzhaf, both of Eustis; a half-brother, Larry Banzhaf of Lexington; and one sister, Peg Wood of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Services will be today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Eustis with the Rev. Robert Wigert officiating. Burial will be in the Arbor Cemetery near Stockville.

A memorial has been established. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Berryman Funeral Home at Eustis.

The Berryman Funeral Home at Eustis is in charge of arrangements.
