Irene M. Babcock of Burley, Ida., died June 22, 1996 at the Parke View Care and Rehabilitation Center in Burley, Ida. She was born May 23, 1910 in Ingham to Charles and Grace Brock Murray. She attended schools in Ingham where she graduated from High School. Dec. 20, 1928 she married John B. Babcock and they moved to Idaho in 1955.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Eustis. Irene was employed by M. H. King Magic Valley Wholesale from 1956 to 1977 when she retired.

Survivors include one son, John L. Babcock of Brighton, Mich.; one daughter, Arlene Kerbs of Burley; one brother Howard Murray of Bozeman, Mont.; two sisters, Frances Ralston of Curtis and Ethel Omment of Malin, Ore.; on granddaughter, Melissa Fetzer; one grandson, Craig Kerbs and one great-grandson Joshua Fetzer all of Burley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Babcock, one daughter Eunice Babcock, three brothers and one sister.

Services were held June 27 at the Payne Memorial Chapel in Burley with the Rev. Laurie Hart officiating. Burial was held at the Paul Cemetery.
