Wilbert D. Anderson

Wilbert D. Anderson, 74, of Brady, died March 12, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born March 31, 1924, at North Platte to Henning G. and Alice C. Sreaves Anderson. He attended Wickstrom School.

On Dec. 14, 1949, he married Norrene E. Bratten at Svea Dal Covenant Church. He farmed in Wild Horse Valley for most of his life. He also worked for the State Department of Roads from 1971 to 1977. Then he worked operating the road maintainer for the Lincoln County Road Department from 1977 to1989 when he retired.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the V.F.W., Svea Dal Covenant Church for 60 years and Gideons International

He accepted the Lord as a teenager and served the Lord all his life.

Survivors include his wife, Norrene of Brady; five daughters, Linda (Monty) Bowman, Carolyn (Boyd) Hicken and Michelle (Bryan) Hecox, all of Gothenburg, Jeanette (Scott) Thomas of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Joyce (Jack) Miettinen of Grand Island; a sister, Jewel (Forrest) Johnson of Farnam; three brothers, Ray (Alyce) Anderson of Holdrege, Delmar (Pauline) Anderson of Brady and Wendel (Marilyn) Anderson of Omaha; eight grandchildren, Kerri (Chip) Blowers, Kaysie Bowman, Lindsey Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Stacy Hicken, Ross Hicken, Jackie Miettinen and Jordan Miettinen; two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Brooke Blowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Glenn, Verlin and Cecil.

Memorials are suggested to the Svea Dal Covenant Church or Gideons International

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Svea Dal Covenant Church in Brady with the Pastor Ken Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in the Svea Dal Cemetery.
