Simon Lewis Starky
Simon Lewis Starky was born at LaHark, Ill., February 1, 1865. He lived about one and one-half miles west of Disco, Ill., until he was 21 years of age. He came to Nebraska in 1887 and lived near Red Cloud, returning to Illinois the following year.
Mr. Starky came again to Nebraska in 1888. He was married to Nannie B. Willard, April 1889. To this union were born three children, two of whom survive him. One preceded him to the great beyond at the age of thirteen. Harry E. Starkey of Fort Madison, Iowa, was at his bedside at the time of death.
The deceased had made his home with his brother for the past year and died at the home of George Starkey, July 15, 1921, age 56 years 5 months and 14 days. He was converted and united with the Baptist church of Farnam and was a member at time of death. He leaves two children, one brother, one sister and three grandchildren.
The funeral services were held at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. T. E. Gilbert, pastor. Enterment [sic] in Farnam.
