James Franklin Hathaway
James Franklin Hathaway was born in Davis county, Iowa, February
21, 1866 and died September 27, 1918. Age 52 years, seven
months, and six days.
While quite young his parents moved to Missouri where he grew to
manhood. In the year of 1888, he moved to Frontier county,
Nebraska. On September 24, 1907, he was united in marriage to
Miss Ida Wollam; to this union were born four children, three
sons, Wayne Elson, age 10; Lowell Dean, age 8; James Burton, age
5; and Nellie Frances, age 2.
They lived in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado until the
year of 1916, when they moved to Stockville, Nebraska, where
they still reside.
He has been a patient sufferer of heart trouble for two years.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, four children, three
brothers, John of Loveland, Colorado, George and Samuel of
Farnam, and one sister, Mrs. Lee Hobbs of Bethany, Nebraska,
other relatives and a host of friends.
He was a kind father and an affectionate husband, and a good
neighbor.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock
from the Methodist church at Farnam, conducted by Rev. T. E.
Gillet. Interment at Farnam cemetery.
