Farnam was again called upon to face the grim mystery of death when one of its former citizens, John Henry Titchen was brought here for burial yesterday.

He was born in Bremen, Germany, April 19, 1864 and died from appendicitis in the hospital at Alliance, Nebr., on Jan. 6 1925 at the age of 60 years, 8 months and 19 days.

Mr. Titchen came to America in 1883 and spent two years in Pennsylvania before coming to Nebr. In 1885, where he made his home in the vicinities of Farnam and Gothenburg, until 1917 when he moved to Broadwater, Nebr., at which place he has since made his home.

He was united in marriage to Miss Phoebe Donelson on February 27, 1900. To this union three children were born, one dying in infancy, and one son and one daughter, who survive him. His wife preceded him to that better land on January 30, 1907.

The Father was spared to help care for his own, and see them grow to manhood and womanhood when he too was called to cross the bar which divides the living from the dead.

He leaves to mourn his departure his son John Jr. and daughter Lily, one brother, Martin of Farnam, a number of relatives by marriage and a large circle of friends.

The remains were brought to Farnam Wednesday and funeral services were conducted in the M. E. church at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon by Rev. Geo Seick, pastor of the Methodist church.

Interment was made in the Farnam cemetery.
