David King Rice Jr., 28, of North Platte died June 29, 2008, as a result of injuries sustained in an accident east of North Platte.

David Jr. was born Dec. 4, 1979, in Stoughton, Mass., to David King Rice and Suzanne Rose Batchelder Reed. He grew up and received his education in several different states, primarily in Norfolk, Mass. He moved to Farnam in July 2005 to be with his family. He met Katie Tilford in January 2006 and they began dating Feb. 14, 2006, and believed they were soul mates from the beginning. David proposed to Katie Sept. 12, 2006.

David Jr. loved music, art and most of all, people. He was always looking for a way to make people feel better. He paid special attention to giving guidance to his brothers and sisters. He was a Christian man who showed his love for Jesus, and truly was a blessing from God. He will be remembered as a beautiful person that positively touched so many lives.

Survivors include his wife, Katie Tilford of North Platte; father, David King (Theresa) Rice Sr. of Farnam; loving and devoted stepmother, Lorain Anne Rice of Attleborough, Mass.; five brothers, Christian Allen (Samantha) Rice of Wrentham, Mass., Lawrence Dana Rice of Attleborough, Joseph Ezekiel Rice of Farnam, John Reed and Paul Reed, both of Brockton, Mass.; three sisters, Jessie Lee Anne (Walter) Simoneau of Attleborough, Angela Audrey Marie Rice of Farnam and LeeAnne Roman of Brockton; and two nephews, Kristian Blake Simoneau and Dylan Anthony Rice.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne Rose Batchelder Reed and his grandmother, Joyce Rice.

The family has established a memorial. Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore in North Platte with Greg Boller, Lay Minister of the Farnam Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Burial will follow in the Farnam Cemetery.
