Died.—At his home in Farnam, Aug. 24, 1902, Nathan Irelan. The cause of death being a complication of disease and at his advanced age the system was unable to withstand the attack. Mr. Irelan was born in Morgan county, Ohio, July 10, 1829. Was married in 1852; settled in Nebraska in the ’80’s. At the outbreak of the war he offered his services to his country as a volunteer and enlisted in Co. H 7th Iowa Vol. Infantry, and served through the entire war. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn the loss of a faithful husband and father; five children were at his dying bedside to receive his last blessing and lovingly and tenderly cared for him till his Father called him home. His passing into the great eternity was peaceful as the last flickerings of a burning candle. He early in life became a member of church and faithfully following the teachings of his Master and died in the triumph of faith. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Gilson at the M. E. church, Tuesday at 10 a.m., after which the remains were interred in the Farnam cemetery to await the coming of the Lord. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
