Wayne Williams

Wayne Williams, 84, of Farnam died Oct. 6, 1998, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 6, 1914, in Elwood to Clyde and Daisy Garvin Williams. He graduated from Ingham High School in 1934.

On May 27, 1941, he married Elaine Widick. They lived in Los Angeles, where he worked for Douglas Aircraft until 1947.

After returning to Farnam, Mr. Williams was a hardware manager at the Montgomery Store and he worked at the theater. He later was a mechanic for Wilcox Implement and a custodian at Farnam School for more than 20 years. He retired in 1981. He enjoyed playing golf in his retirement.

He was a member of the Farnam Lions Club and the Farnam United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Cille) of Denver and Rick (Pam) of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Adam, Lia and Dana Williams, all of Lincoln, Elizabeth Steinkamp of Los Angeles and Andrew and Chase Robinson, both of Denver; a sister, Doris (Albert) Rhodes of Marino Valley, Calif.; and two brothers, Russell (Charlotte) Williams of Eustis and Donald (Jean) Williams of St. Cloud, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 24, 1997; his parents; three sisters, Virginia Rice, Geneva Hart and Lois Flemming; and three brothers, Cecil, Dale and Billie.

Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Eustis/Farnam Schools.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Farnam with the Revs. Eugene Beye and Steven Todd officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.
