Hazel Lilyhorn
Hazel Lilyhorn, 69 of Holdrege died Friday at her home. She was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Frontier County to John and Mabel Rose Adkisson. Following graduation from Farnam High School she taught rural school for one year before moving to Gothenburg. On June 15, 1943, she married Myron Williams while he was serving in the U. S. Army Air Corps. During World War II she made her home in Farnam. After the war they lived in Gothenburg for two years before moving to Arcadia. In 1955 her husband died. She returned to Farnam in 1956 and on Feb. 3, 1968, she married Jack Lilyhorn. They made their home in Holdrege where she resided at the time of her death.
She was employed as a bookkeeper by Sidles Mr. Automotive for 16 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Farnam and the American Legion Auxiliary 0288 of Farnam for 33 years.
Survivors include her husband Jack of Holdrege; two daughters, Judy Jo (Mrs. Larry) King of Gering and Sandra Lou (Mrs. Danny) Grim of Kearney; a stepson, Gregory Lilyhorn and his wife Ranita of Omaha; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Estella Lehman of Farnam, Zella Messersmith of Farnam and Lula Stapp of Cambridge; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding her in death in addition to her first husband were one stepson, her parents, six brothers and two sisters.
Services will be conducted from the Nelson Funeral Home of Holdrege Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Moorer of the United Methodist Church of Holdrege Officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.
Nelson Funeral Home of Holdrege is in charge of arrangements.
