Maurice C. "Bill" Widick, 96, of Farnam, died on February 8, 2008 at Gothenburg.

"Bill" was born on February 7, 1912 at Smithfield, NE to Grover C. & Myrtle Rose (Clayton) Widick. Bill grew up at Smithfield and Farnam and attended those schools. He graduated from Farnam High school.

Bill lived in the Farnam/Moorefield area where he worked in the trucking and farming industries. He also spent several years in Wyoming. He was a member of the Free Masons since 1945.

Bill married Mildred M Devine at North Platte NE on June 1, 1936. To this union 5 sons were born: Ralph, Bruce, Gene, Kent, and Frank.

Bill was preceded in death by Mildred, his loving wife of 52 years in 1988, his parents, son Gene in Vietnam and son Kent in a farming accident; 2 brothers & their wives; a sister and her husband; a brother-in-law; and a daughter-in-law Madie.

Bill is survived by his sons Ralph (Bobbi) of Farnam, NE; Bruce (Marsha) of Malcolm, NE; Frank (Cheryl) of Moorefield, NE; a brother Orvale (Barbara) of Farnam, NE; a sister-in-law Leila Gruber of Gothenburg; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren and 1 step great-grandchild; along with many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel from 1:00 -8:00 with the family present from 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Farnam Cemetery with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.

Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill´s grandchildren: Gregg Widick; Karmen Widick; John Widick; Blane Widick; Jill Burden; Kayla LeMessurier; Heidi Inglsbee; Valerie Vanderheiden.

Memorials are suggested to the donor´s choice.
