Lois Marie Reynolds Widick

Lois Marie Reynolds Widick, 87, of Farnam died June 14, 2001, at her home.

She was born June 14, 1914, at Farnam to Clifford and Elizabeth Gewecke Reynolds. She was raised on a farm north of Farnam.

On June 1, 1936, she married Ellis Widick at North Platte. They lived several places before settling on their farm 10 miles southwest of Farnam. They retired and moved to town in the spring of 1982. Before she was married, she taught school for five years at Arnold and Farnam area rural schools.

She was an excellent cook, seamstress and gardener. She enjoyed her flowers and birds.

Mrs. Widick was a member of the Farnam United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was also a member of the North Aid, the Farnam Library Board and was active in many community activities.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jan (Roland) Sheffield of Farnam; three sons, Ren (Kathy) and Dan (Jan), all of Farnam and Doug (Linda) of Curtis; a brother, Dean (Phyllis) Reynolds of Farnam; 13 grandchildren, Mark (Miquon) and Wes (Laurie) Sheffield, Ann (Matthew) Aden and Tanner and Kory Widick, all of Farnam, Michael (Cindy) Widick of Greeley, Colo., Karen (Glen) Bomberger of Oconto, Brad (Jackie) Widick of Gothenburg, Ross (Terri) and Craig (Kathy) Widick, all of Brady, Jeremy (Adrienne) Widick of Lincoln, Justin (Jenny) Widick of Omaha and Kristy (Cheyenne) Wohlford of North Platte; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Keith; and a sister-in-law, Irene.

Memorials are suggested to the Farnam United Methodist Church or the Farnam Senior Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Farnam with the Rev. Dr. William Deahl officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.
