[Vincent] Benson (sic) J. Whitney, 85, of Farnam, died Thursday at a local nursing home, where he has been for the past four months. He was born June 25, 1881 in eastern Nebraska.

He is survived by three sons, Arthur E. Whitney of Torrington, Leonard V. of Bremerton, Wash., and Clyde E. of White City, Ore.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held in Gothenburg. Read-Maser-Dugan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
