Mrs. V. Whitney Dies
Mrs. Vincent Whitney 68 years of age passed away Sunday morning January 22nd at the Cozad hospital where she had been a patient for a few days. Mrs. Whitney had been a resident of the Farnam community for over fifty years. Besides Mr. Whitney she is survived by three sons, Everett, Leonard and Clyde, three brothers one sister and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were set for Wednesday, January 25th at the Church of the Nazarene in Farnam, Rev. W. R. McCroskey officiating. Burial in the Farnam cemetery with the Olesen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Obituary in next weeks Press.
OBITUARY
Maud Lina Munsil, daughter of Cassins and Jenette Munsil, was born March 20, 1887 at Fremont, Nebraska. She departed this life at the Community hospital, Cozad, January 22, 1956, at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 2 days.
She was united in marriage to Vincent Whitney, May 27, 1908 at the Whitney Farm home southwest of Farnam. To this union four children were born; Helen, who passed away in infancy, and three sons, Everett, Leonard and Clyde.
She spent her early years in and around Fremont community, coming to Farnam in 1906 to teach the Farnam public schools.
She joined the church and was a faithful and active member in the Church of the Nazarene at the time of her passing.
She was also active in the community, having given music lessons here for over 45 years.
Mrs. Whitney was a faithful and devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and a friend to all.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband; three sons, Everett of Torrington, Wyoming; Leonard of Poulsbo, Washington; Clyde of San Diego, California; two brothers; Marion Munsil of Phoenix, Arizona, Jean Munsil of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Mrs. Chester Kellie of Medusa, New York; six grandchildren; one great grandchild, fifteen nieces and nephews and many other relatives and a host of friends.
