Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Taylor returned Saturday from Farnam, Nebraska, whither they were called by the sickness of Mrs. Taylor’s father, James R. Whitney, who had been ill for some weeks and whose recovery was despaired of. Mr. Whitney’s funeral occurred on Thursday of last week. He was an old Nemaha county resident, having come to the county in the early days and taken up a homestead near the Bratton school house. Several years ago he sold out and moved west, having lived for a long time near Farnam. He leaves a wife, a son and two daughters. Mrs. Taylor has the sympathy of the community in her loss.
