Roy Wear
Funeral services for Roy Wear, 84, of Aurora, former resident of Farnam, were held Friday November 1, 1965, at the Higby Mortuary in Aurora with the Rev. Lyod Bliss of Hastings officiating.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Farnam Cemetery with the Rev. John Milkkelsen of Gothenburg officiating.
He was born June 8, 1881, in Tobias, coming to Farnam at the age of 18.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, five sons; Elvin of Big Springs; Harold of Iowa; and Kenneth, Raymond and LaVern all of California; 4 daughters, Mrs. Bernice Brown, Brady; Mrs. Elta Yant, Lincoln; Mrs. Betty Norgaard of Aurora and Mrs. Imo Jean Lamm of Arkansas; two brothers, William and Lewis of Kansas and one sister, Mrs. Mary Hazen of Idaho, and
28 grandchildren.
AURORA - Roy Wear, 84, died Tuesday in an Aurora care home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Higby Mortuary, Aurora. Burial will be at Farnam, with graveside services at 3 p.m. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wear was born June 8, 1881, at Tobias, the son of Rankin and Serena Wear. He and Mary Robinson were married Oct. 29, 1902, at Stockville. They farmed near Farnam until they retired in 1958 and moved to Aurora.
He is survived by his widow, Aurora; five sons, Elvin, Big Springs, Harold, Keokuk, Iowa, Kenneth, Chula Vista, Calif., Raymond, Los Angeles and LaVerne, San Diego; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Brown, Brady, Mrs. Elta Yant, Lincoln, Mrs. Betty Norgaard, Aurora; and Mrs. Imo Jean Lamm, Bismarck, Ark.; two brothers, William and Lewis, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hazen, Idaho; 28 granchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
