Nancy Ann (Castor) Wallingford

Nancy Ann Castor was born in Pennsylvania, December 10, 1947. She moved to Greensburg, Indiana with her parents, Samuel and Nancy (Funkhouser) Castor when a little child. There she had her schooling and grew to womanhood. On May 21, 1872, she was united in marriage to Mr. W. A. Wallingford, who now survives her, after nearly sixty years of married life.

Seven children have come to the Wallingford home, one boy passing away in infancy. The six children left to miss their mother are: Mrs. Hannah Mindenhall of South Bend, Indiana; Mrs. Bertha Lapp of Chicago,Illinois; Mrs. Daisy Depuy and Mrs. Pearl Earll of Gothenburg, Nebraska; Charles of Denver, Colorado, and Rafe of Gothenburg.

The family lived in Greensburg for a number of years. At the age of thirty-three, Mrs. Wallingford was converted, baptized and united with the Baptist church of Greensburg.

In 1887, the family moved to Farnam, Nebraska, where they resided until 1918, when they moved to Gothenburg. She was a member of the Baptist church in Farnam. When moving to Gothenburg, she united with the Methodist church because the Baptist church used the Swedish language at that time.

She passed away in Gothenburg, Friday, May 15, 1931 at 7:30 pm at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 5 days, ready and willing to go, happy in the Christian faith.

Besides the sorrowing husband and children, she leaves to miss her twenty-two grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, other relatives, and a host of friends. She was a good wife and mother, a true friend and Christian.

The funeral service was held at the Farnam Baptist Church, Monday, May 18th with burial in the Farnam Cemetery.
