George Vickers
George Thomas Vickers passed away April 14 at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. He would have been 87 on his birthday April 27. Services were at First Baptist Church Monday. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
George T. Vickers was born to Lamertine and Sarah Jane Vickers on April 27, 1892 in Humboldt, Nebr. As a small child he moved with his family to the Gothenburg-Cozad area. He was a member of the Antelope Center Baptist Church and later the First Baptist Church.
He was married to Sylvia Violet Paris on Jan. 24, 1921. They moved to the Farnam community in the spring of 1944.
He is survived by one son, Tom Vickers; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Donna) Burson, and Mrs. Clyde (Doris) Kotschwar; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Vickers of Hemingford, and one sister, Alda Mercer of Golden, Colo.
Mrs. Raymond Nelson and Mrs. Sherman Bailey were accompanied in their duet by Mrs. Gene Schriver, organist and Mrs. Raymond Nordin.
Casket bearers were Matt Vickers, Mark Vickers, Rex Kotschwar, Dennis Kotschwar, Charlie Bihlmaier and John Rowland.
