Miss Lillian Titchen Dies
Lillian Hildegard C. Titchen was born December 21, 1904, in Dawson county, Nebraska, and died at Salem, Oregon, August 29, 1942.
The Titchen family lived at Farnam for many years and Lillian graduated from the Farnam school in the class of ‘24. After graduation she taught school in Frontier and Lincoln counties. Later she lived at Broadwater, Nebr., Seattle, Wash., Oshkosh, Wis., and Medford, Oregon. Recently she visited in Farnam and was on her way home when she was taken seriously ill. After arriving at Medford she was taken to a hospital at Salem and passed away there.
She is survived by her brother, John Henry Titchen, of Farnam and seven uncles and one aunt: Martin Titchen of Farnam, Hubert Donelson of Lexington, Vincent Donelson of Holdrege, Bert Donelson of Elsie, Percy Donelson of Seattle, Lester Donelson of Clarinda, Iowa, Roy Donelson of Medford and a number of relatives and friends.
Her father, John Henry Titchen, died January 6, 1925 and her mother, Phoebe Titchen passed away on January 30, 1907.
Lillian Titchen was baptized into the Methodist church June 8, 1913, and has remained a member of that church until her death. She bore a fine reputation all these years and it is safe to say she has been a faithful follower of Jesus Christ wherever she lived.
For many years she has lived with her uncle, Roy Donelson, in Oregon.
She was a former member of the Rebekah lodge in Farnam.
Our sympathy goes out to her brother John in his sad bereavement.
The body was returned here and the funeral services will be held at the Methodist church this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. S. Mitchell as pastor.
Interment will be in the Farnam cemetery.
