Obituary
William Lewis Thomas was born May 30, 1871 in Cumberland county Illinois, and passed away at his home in Farnam Wednesday evening, Oct. 24, at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 24 days.
The deceased spent his early manhood in Illinois. He came with his parents to Frontier county in 1892, and has resided in Frontier and Dawson counties since coming to Nebraska.
His father and mother and two sisters preceeded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, one brother, Fred of Farnam, and a host of friends.
Mr. Thomas will be remembered by his kindly spirit and sincerity. He was a good neighbor and friend. His sight failed him in late years but he was a man that made the best of afflictions, and was jovial and loving to the end.
When he was stricken with the last illness which caused his death, again he was patient. He told his friends that he knew he would not be there long, and the end came when he slipped quietly to his rest last Wednesday evening.
Funeral services were held from the Farnam Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. C. R. Thrasher in charge. Burial was in the Farnam cemetery.
The Farnam Echo, 19(23) March 12, 1959.
