Helen Smith Taylor

Helen Mock was born November 25, 1877, at Chandlersville, Ohio, and died at a Watseka, Illinois, hospital August 3, 1944. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Mock and was educated in Ohio. In 1900 she was married to David H. Smith. To this union were born three children, Lloyd, who died in 1922, Raymond and Lena.

In 1909 they moved to Farnam, Nebraska, where they made their home until 1927 when they moved to California for Mr. Smith's health, but he died there in 1931. October 27, 1937, she was married to W. E. Taylor of Donovan, Illinois. She was always active in church work when her health permitted. At the time of her death she was a member of the Presbyterian church of Sheldon, Illinois.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, W. E. Taylor, of Donovan, Illinois, her son Raymond, Farnam, her daughter Mrs. Lena Hardegree of Akron, Ohio, two grandchildren Ardyce and Beryl Smith of Farnam. There are also five step-children, Athel Taylor of Palisade, Colorado, Leslie Taylor of Kentland, Indiana, Edna Garner of Watseka, Illinois, Clarence Taylor at home and Lois Garfield of Brook, Indiana, and sixteen step-grandchildren, also two sisters and three brothers all of Ohio.

The body was brought by train to the Hugo funeral home in Gothenburg Friday and funeral services were held from there to the Farnam Methodist church Sunday afternoon with Rev. E. H. Tipton officiating.

Burial was in Farnam cemetery.
