Opal Elizabeth Stebbins
Opal Elizabeth Stebbins, 75, 2620 Anna, died Thursday in a Denver hospital. She was born July 6, 1908 at Farnam to Milton D. and Allie Martin Stebbins.
Miss Stebbins attended Farnam schools and received her bachelor of arts degree from Kearney State College. She taught in rural schools near Farnam and in the Farnam Grade School. She also taught many years in North Platte elementary schools retiring in 1973.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge of Farnam.
Survivors include one sister, Cora (Mrs. Hollie) Williams of Potter; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Stebbins of San Jose, Calif., and Maude Stebbins of Fremont; two nieces, Mildred Haworth of Boise, Idaho, and Phyllis Snyder of Corvallis, Ore.; one nephew, William D. Stebbins of San Jose, Calif., and other relatives.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Davis officiating. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Farnam Cemetery in Farnam.
The casket will not be opened at the church.
A memorial has been established to the church.
Tabler Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
