Lucille Speck

Lucille Speck, 88, of Gothenburg died July 16, 2002, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.

She was born Nov. 13, 1913, at Ridgeway, Mo., to Charles M. and Flora E. Peck Mowrey. She graduated from Farnam High School.

On Feb. 2, 1933, she married Aaron James Francis Speck at North Platte. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1995. She worked at the dry cleaners for many years. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Waller of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two sons, Rodney (Marcia) of Gothenburg and Kendall (Patricia) of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Wanda (D.D.) Holmes of Brighton, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Royce and Terry Speck, Jerilyn Sternhagen, Stacey Wentzel, Jennifer (Shane) Belgum, Julie Speck, Scott Speck and Adam Speck; and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leo Mowrey.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Wendy Ruetten officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church pew fund.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Blase Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg.
