John B. Speck Dies This A.M.
John B. Speck, 59, farmer living in the vicinity between Brady and Moorefield, died at 4:15 o’clock this morning in a local hospital. He had been in the hospital here for the past week.
A native of Nebraska, he was born January 1, 1883 at Smithfield. He had lived in the Brady and Moorefield vicinity for 26 years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Speck, two sons, Jim of Farnam and Ben of Ogallala; three daughters, Mrs. Anton Nelson of North Platte, Mrs. Henry Thompson of Maxwell and Miss Ada Speck, at home; four brothers, William of North Platte, Eugene of Gibbon, LeRoy of Long Beach and Clyde of North Platte; three sisters, Mrs. Leu Powell of Lexington, Mrs. A. Tolle of Elm Creek and Mrs. Henry Denzine of Denver, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in Farnam with Rev. Geisler of Moorefield officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam cemetery.
The remains will be taken from the Maloney-Cox-Kuhns funeral chapel to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anton Nelson, 721 East Ninth street, North Platte, to lin in state until the time of the service.
