W. A. Smallfoot
Walter A. Smallfoot passed away at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 13. He was 83. Services were in the United Methodist Church in Farnam. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
Mr. Smallfoot was born August 10, 1895, to August and Minnie Smallfoot at Dunbar, Nebr. He was united in marriage to Edith Wheeler on Feb. 18, 1920. They lived in Colorado until 1924, when they moved to the Farnam area. He farmed until 1949, then moved to town and served as custodian of the Farnam Schools.
He was preceded in death by his wife, and an infant son.
Survivors include his son, Alvin of Gibbon; one granddaughter, Christie Lind; and three grandsons, Kevin of Valentine, Gaylord of Eustis and Marc of Fort Knox, Kentucky; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Hazen of Farnam; two brothers, Earl of Gothenburg and Chester of North Platte.
Rev. Karl L. Lent officiated. Music was a duet by Mrs. Harold Bick and Mrs. Robert Speck and pianist was Mrs. Kent Davis.
Casket bearers were Kevin Smallfoot, Gaylord Smallfoot, Marc Smallfoot, Mark Lind, Kent Davis and John Hazen.
