Genevieve Fitch Shelton was born Sept. 23, 1899, at Farnam, Nebr. to William and Charlotte Fitch. She passed away at Long Beach, Calif., on May 30, 1966. She was a graduate of Farnam High School. She retired 2 years ago after teaching for 40 years.

At the time of her death she was a member of the Leisure World Community Church at Seal Beach, Calif. She always took an active part in the work of the church wherever she lived. Much of her life was spent in service to others. Her strong Christian faith unheld her through the many months of suffering.

She was preceded in death by parents. She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Glenrose McCormick of Loveland, Colo.; Mrs. Doris Smith of Farnam; and Mrs. Lucille Hyde of Gothenburg. Four brothers; Ronald Fitch, Pomona, Calif; Eugene Fitch, Arvada, Colo; Dr. William Fitch, Downey, Calif; and Robert Fitch of Riverside, Calif and fourteen nieces and nephews.

Services were held at the Farnam Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. June 4, 1966. Rev. Quincy Murphee officiated. Music was by Bruce Miller, accompanied by Mrs. Blaine Miller. Pallbearers were Glen Wintermute, Harold Bick, John Wightman, Kromborg Kjar, Horace Fitch and Michael Fitch.
