Helen G. Sheffield
Helen G. Sheffield, 86, of Gothenburg died Aug. 6, 1998, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
She was born July 16, 1912, in Frontier County to Milo and Goldie Kilburn Nickerson. She graduated from Orafino High School in 1931.
On Dec. 24, 1934, she married Wilbur Dale Sheffield in McCook. They farmed south of Farnam for many years before moving into Gothenburg in 1972. He
preceded her in death on April 13, 1985.
Mrs. Sheffield was a member of the Church of God-Seventh Day.
Surviving her are three daughters, Detta (Alfred) Holscher of Smithfield, Sharon (Ronald) Peterson of Purdum and Marilyn Jackson of Gothenburg; a son,
Roland (Jan) of Farnam; three sisters, Lois Anderson of Brady, Gladys Cross of Farnam and Maxine Yakich of Denver; 11 grandchildren; and 15
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Donald, Harold, Delmer and Gene; and a son-in-law, Fred Jackson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg with Pastor Calvin Burrell officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.
