Katherine Mary (Schwartman) Russell
Kathering Mary Schwartman, daughter of Fritz and Elizabeth Rinen Schwartman, was born May 26, 1885 at Avoca, Nebraska and passed away in the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital February 3, 1960, at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 8 days.
She moved with her parents to Otoe County in 1895, where she received her education and was united in marriage there to William Ernest Russell on January 29, 1906. The Russell's left Otoe County and moved to the Farnam Community in 1922, and farmed for many years until recent years, when they lived in Farnam.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Helen M. Clement; two sons, Joy W. of Farnam, and Dale E. of Ogallala, Nebraska; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Mary, of Weeping Water, Nebraska; and one brother, Fred, of Unadilla, Nebraska.
In addition to her husband, she was preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, in which she was a member, in Farnam, Nebraska, Saturday, February 6, 1960, at 2:00 p.m. Rev. B. H. Hart officiating. Mrs. Delores Nickerson and Mrs. Audrey Kotschwar sang, accompanied by Mrs. Doris Smith. Pallbearers were: Ralph Parker, LeRoy Tillotson Sr., Jay Beerman, Elgie Thompson, Charlie Pollard, and Argil Donner.
Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
The McVay-Olesen Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
