Frank W. Roupe

Funeral services were held in the local Methodist Church in Farnam on Tuesday afternoon for Frank Roupe, a former resident of this community, who died in a Gothenburg hospital Saturday after a long illness. Rev. Tipton officiated at the services and interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

Frank Roupe was born in Iowa City, Iowa on April 15, 1866 [to Edsel and Elizabeth Roupe] and died at Gothenburg on August 25, 1945 at the age of seventy-eight years, four months, and twenty days.

He was married in 1895 [to Emma McClintock] and was the father of four children, three of whom died in infancy and the other Mrs. Mildred Hubbard, died recently in California, leaving two sons, Bill and Norman, aged fifteen and twelve years. He is survived by his two grandsons, two sisters in Montana, and a niece Mrs. Partridge of Alliance.

In earlier life he had been a railroad man and served for a time as roadmaster. He moved to this community in 1919 and farmed as long thereafter as he was able.

His former neighbors all have a kindly word for him.
