Dean G. Reynolds
FARNAM - Dean G. Reynolds, 82, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at his home in Farnam.
He was born April 6, 1922, to Clifford A. and Elizabeth Gewecke Reynolds north of Farnam. Dean graduated from Farnam High School in 1940 and attended college at Kearney. He entered the U.S. Navy in February of 1943 and was discharged in March 1946. After the service, he was a carpenter in Gothenburg with Ed Aden, and later was self-employed in Farnam.
He married Phyllis M. Heath on Aug. 7, 1953, at Cozad. They had operated the family farm north of Farnam since 1953. He enjoyed farming but he enjoyed haying most of all.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 288 of Farnam, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the United Methodist Church, served on the Farnam School Board and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving him is his wife, Phyllis of Farnam; a daughter, Toni Reynolds of Farnam; a son, Monte Reynolds of Farnam; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Scott and Brett; a brother Keith; and a sister Lois Widick.
Memorials may be given to donor's choice.
Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg, with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.
