Anna Mariah Reeves
Anna Mariah Cook was born in Henry county, Virginia, January 10, 1867. Her parents moved to state of Missouri when she was a small child.
She became a Christian in early life and on May 17, 1883, was married to G. I. Reeves in Clair county, Missouri. One child, Effie May, was born to them on May 1, 1884, in Clay county, Iowa.
Dr. and Mr. and Mrs. Reeves came to Nebraska in 1898, and have resided in this state most of the time, until her passing on March 8, 1942.
Deceased is survived by her daughter, Effie, an adopted daughter, Mrs. Carroll Largent, of Davenport, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. Frank Ballard of Des Moines, Iowa, one brother, John Cook of Monroe, Iowa, and four grandchildren by her adopted daughter, Mrs. Largent, and many relatives and host of friends who will greatly miss her.
During her long life, she has accompanied her husband in his varied duties as physician and also as an ordained minister in the Methodist-Protestant Church, and in many other churches in state of Nebraska.
The past few years have been frought with evidence of failing health but she has been interested in the church and WSCS, she being a charter member.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church by Rev. Mitchell, under the direction of Janssen-Hugo funeral home, and interment was in Farnam cemetery.
The music was by Miss Emily Foote, Mrs. Mitchell, Dale Montgomery, Earl Hess and Mrs. H. Saum.
Pallbearers were E. Hess, H. S. Haskins, A. Jorgensen, M. Enevoldsen, Harve McNickle and Murray Rine.
