Davide W. Rank, son of Newsom and Meroa Rank, pioneers of Farnam, Nebraska, was born June 29, 1879, in Iowa, and departed this life at Chico, Calif., May 19, 1947, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 20 days. He passed away while attending a theater with a friend.

He was united in marriage to Celia Uhlig August 22, 1905, to which union three children were born, who with their mother preceded him in death.

He attended school at Farnam and then took up farming here. He moved to Chico seven years ago and took up landscape gardening until two years ago when he retired.

He is survived by two sisters, Ida Caster of Farnam and Hattie Feasel of Chico and a brother Henry of LaSalle, Colorado, one granddaughter, Eunice Rank of Orland, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Nugent funeral home, Orland, with Rev. B. J. Franklin officiating. Burial was in Orland cemetery.
