Anna Mae (Ashbury) Preston
Mrs. Anna Preston, who has been in poor health for some time, died at her home about 9 o'clock yesterday morning.
She was 84 years of age and had resided in and near Farnam for thirty years.
The body was taken to Hugo Funeral Home in Gothenburg for preparation for burial and funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church at 2 o’clock on Friday afternoon. (2/17/1944)
Anna May Ashburry was born in Illinois (Canada between 1864 and 1866) on June 10, 1859, and died at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 6 days.
She moved with her parents (John and Carrie (Jones) Ashbury?) to Red Oak, Iowa, where she met and married William A. Preston on September 19, 1883 in Montgomery County, Iowa, and to this union seven children were born, of whom three died in infancy. The other children left mourn her loss are Willis Preston, Myrtle Baker, Bertha Adams, and Frank Preston, also there are six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She lived in and near Farnam for forty years.
Funeral services wre held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon from the Hugo Mortuary in Gothenburg to the Farnam Baptist Church, with Rev. H. W. Anderson of Curtis officiating.
Burial was beside her husband in the Farnam Cemetery.
