Obituary Collection
Dr. Marvin Pollard

Dr. Marvin J. Pollard of Ocala, FL died Friday, July 12, 1991 at Ocala.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 19 at 1 p.m. at the Farnam United Methodist Church, Rev. Charles Leypoldt officiating. Music will be provided by Les Beck and Donna Hazen. Interment will be in the Farnam Cemetery.

McVay Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Marvin John, son of Charles and Glennie (Jones) Pollard, was born Jan. 31, 1920 at Farnam. He graduated from Farnam High School in 1937, attended Doane College in Crete and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He interned in Santa Clara, CA. During World War II he served as ship’s physician in the U.S. Navy aboard the Dutch ship, Japora. Later he practiced in Fresno, CA. For 40 years he was an associate in a clinic in Pasadena, CA, and also lived in Denver, where he practiced for five years before retiring in April 1991 to Ocala.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy of Ocala; two daughters, Susan Peeples of Newport Beach, CA and Mary Alice Chisolm of Atascadero, CA; one son, Charles of Santa Monica, CA; one sister, Marjorie Axtell of Denver, CO; four grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a daughter, Sarah.
