OSCAR PETERSONS BABY DIES FROM PNEUMONIA
Little Veryl Lou, baby son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peterson, passed away Monday. Dec. 19, at the home, after only a few hours illness, of pneumonia. The child was born Sept. 9, 1938.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:00 o’clock from the Methodist church, with Rev. Fred H. Johnson in charge.
He is survived by his parents, five brothers, Harold, William, Blaine, Lloyd and Glenn and one sister, Dorothy besides his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Peterson of Richmond, Calif., and Grandma Brown of Moberly, Mo.
Preceeding [sic.] him in death were two sisters, Marion B and Marjorie Lee and a brother, Stanley Roger.
The many friends of the family extend thir [sic.] heartfelt sympathy in this sad time, in the loss of their loved one.
Mr. Peterson had just returned from California where he had been called because of the death of his brother, Clyde.
We know the hurt is keen today,
We know the loss is great;
But what if we should go away
With none there to wait.
An, oh, how lonely Heaven would be
If all we love were here,
To welcome us there, my dear.
But soon we shall be reconciled
When life’s brief time is done;
For heaven is made of those we love,
The beautiful and true.
And God has taken him above
To build a heaven yonder,
For you and I, my dear.
