Services for Stella Patterson Held Tuesday
Stella V. Patterson, widow of Warn E. Patterson and a long-time resident of our community, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 1974, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Born at Farnam, Neb., on October 19, 1890, she was in her 84th year.
Stella Viola Jackson Patterson was the oldest child of Charles Edward Jackson and Mary Ellen Seth Jackson. She was united in marriage to Warn Edmond Patterson, and in 1911 the couple moved to Gothenburg. Stella was a member of Degree of Honor, Rebekahs and Macabees. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gothenburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel, and two brothers, Elmer and Rollin; her husband, and their daughter, Gladys Damme.
Suriviving her are two sons: Albert Patterson and Delevon Patterson, both of Gothenburg; three daughters: Mary, Mrs. Francis McCormick of Grand Island; Hazell, Mrs. Algred LaFortune of Danville, Calif.; and DeLorice Fisher of Boulder, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday morning in the Fist Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Russell Baustian, and Rev. Arlyn Saathoff of the American Lutheran Church, officiating. Music was by Mrs. Sherman Bailey and Rev. Russell Baustian, with Mrs. Clifford Geiken as organist. Pallbearers were Earl Thomalla, Bill Hastings, Carroll Mannon, Glen Axthelm, Milton Mann and Ernest VanWey. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery, Farnam, Neb.
