Omar Patterson
Is Taken Suddenly,
Enroute to Hospital

Death of Gothenburg Man Was A
Decided Shock To Community;
Ill Only Short Time


Omar Patterson passed away on Monday, enroute by ambulance to Omaha where he was to enter a hospital for treatment. Ailing for a number of years, he had been seriously ill but a week and it was thought advisable to move him, but he succumed before reaching Cozad.

Born in Farnam on February 2, 1894, he was in his 47th year, passing away on July 8, 1940. He spent his life in this community and remained unmarried.

Surviving him are four brothers and two sisters: W. E. and Lester Patterson of Gothenburg, Roy of Farnam and George of Califonria, Mrs. Pearl Clabaugh of California, and Mrs. Pinkie Carter of Watson, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Janssen-Hugo funeral home, Rev. E. H. Maynard of the First Methodist church officiating. Pallbearers were Chris Daiss, Ralph Barnes, Harry Soller, Roland Johnson, B. W. McNatton, and Allan Findlay. Interment was in Farnam cemetery.
