Mrs. Sam Parker, Pioneer Settler Passes On
Mrs. Sam Parker, one of Farnam’s early pioneer settlers passed away at her home Monday Jan. 7. She was 86 years of age.
Funeral services will be held in the home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with the Rev. Seward H. Bean, pastor of the North Platte Episcopal Church of our Saviour, officiating. Interment will be in the Farnam cemetery. Olesen Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Parker is survived by three daughters, Mrs. C. Burr Parker, Mrs. John Rowland, and Mrs. Wehrs Lindvall, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was the wido of the late Sam Parker who passed away in 1948.

Obituary Minnie Tufts Parker
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Tufts Parker, 86, were held at the family home in Farnam on January 10th with the Rev. Seward R. Bean of North Platte officiating. Burial was in the Farnam Cemetery.
Mrs. Parker passed away at her home on January 7 after an illness of several weeks.
Minnie Augusta Tufts, daughter of James and Jeannette Tufts was born May 18, 1870 in Sunbury, Penn. In 1883 she came with her parents to Nebraska. She grew to womanhood on their homestead two and one half miles north of the site which is now Farnam.
On April 12, 1893 she was married to Samuel F. Parker. To this union four daughters were born. Her husband and infant daughter preceded her in death.
Mr. and Mrs. Parker made their home the first years of their marriage on his homestead one half mile north of Farnam. In 1899 they moved into Farnam and in 1904 Mr. Parker founded the Farnam Bank.
Grandma Minnie was always cheerful, kind and friendly to those with whom she came in contact. She was a devoted member of the Episcopal church, and willing worker for the good of the community.
Left to mourn her passing are her three children: Mrs. Burr Parker and Mrs. John Rowland of Farnam; Mrs. Wehrs Lindvall of North Platte, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Out of town relatives who attended the last rites included Mr. and Mrs. Wehrs Lindvall and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Christensen all of North Platte; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stovall and two daughters of Alma, Nebr. and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Soundy and daughter of Cozad.
