John W. Parker

John Wilson Parker was born in Koscinsko County, near Claypool , Indiana, June 16, 1858 and departed this life at his home in Farnam July 22nd, 1930 at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 6 days.

In 1883 he was united in marriage to Miss Ida Wilson, to this union ten children were born, eight of whom are living: Edna Preston, of Dickens, Nebr.; Ruby Stinnette of Herndon, Kans.; Etta Albrecht, Rose, Wayne, Burr, Mae Blackwood, Dale all of Farnam. Pearl and Wilson having preceded him in death.

In the year 1885 they located in Frontier County, Nebraska, where they lived on a farm until 1905 when they moved to Farnam, where they have since resided.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, eight children, thirteen grandchildren, three sisters and a host of friends.

He was a kind and loving father, devoted to his family, a worthy friend and neighbor, who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Many friends gathered at the Parker home last Thursday afternoon to pay their last respects to Mr. Parker. The services were conducted by Rev. C. R. Tanner, the music was furnished by a male quartette, Dan McNickle, H. R. McNickle, H. T. McNickle and David Banks with Mrs. Dan McNickle at the piano.

Interment was made in the Farnam cemetery.
