Ida M. Parker

Early Citizen Put to Rest

Mrs. Ida Parker, a long time resident of the Farnam community, died Thursday night at the Slack Nursing home, where she had made her home for the past two years. She had enjoyed good health until last October when it began to fail.

Ida M. Parker was born May 21, 1866 in Knox County, Ohio. She was the only child of Henry and Jerusha Wilson. She died January 28, 1960 at the age of 93 years, 8 months.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, John W. Parker, one daughter, Pearle, and three sons, Wilson, Dale and Burr.

Survivors are one son, Wayne E. Parker, five daughters, Mrs. Edna Preston, Mrs. Etta Albright, Mrs. Rose Carman, Mrs. Mae Blackwood and Mrs. Ruby Stinnette; 18 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Farnam Monday, February 1, 1960 in the Wayne Parker home. Rev. Green officiated.

Mrs. Charles Davis and Robert A. Zeeh sang, Mrs. Raymond Smith accompanied. Her grandsons and great-grandsons were pallbearers.

Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

McVay-Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
