Burr Parker Death Shocks Friends
C. Burr Parker passed away Saturday, June 4, in the Gothenburg hospital where he underwent extensive surgery on Tuesday. He was 65 years of age.
Being born at Orafino, Nebraska, he had lived his entire life around the Farnam community. He was raised in the Baptistt faith, but later joined the Episcopal church here.
Burr and his brother-in-law, Ray Blackwood had operated a plumbing and well drilling business for the past 15 years. Prior to that he was in the car selling and repairing business with his brother, Wayne.
He leaves his wife, Jeannette, two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Stovall of Alma, Nebraska; and Mrs. Donald Nelson of Boise, Idaho; one son, Samuel Parker of Texas; his mother, Mrs. Ida Parker. Several immediant relatives in this community as well as a inumerable amount of friends and shall be missed by all.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 pm in the St. Matthews Episcopal church in Farnam with the Rev. Leopold H. Hoppe and Mr. Dean Kilburn officiating. Mrs. Charles Davis and Mr. Robert Zeeh sang. Mrs. Raymond Smith accompanied. Pallbearers were Wayne Williams, Dean Anderson, Claude Clement, Dale Montgomery, Russell Wilcox, and Leon Kotschwar. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
McVay Funeral Home was in charge of the arraingements.
