John Edward Oberg
John E. Oberg, Long-Time Farnam Resident, Passes On
In Ill Health for Several Years. He Passed Away On Saturday Morning
John Edward Oberg, a well known Farnam farmer and a resident of that community for the past forty years, passed away at Gothenburg Memorial hospital on Saturday morning, May 7, 1955, following several years of ill health.
Mr. Oberg came with his parents from Webster County to Farnam in 1908. He is survived by his wife, Antonia; three daughters: Mrs. Wayne Ulrich of Seward, Mrs. Harold Sukraw of Maxwell, and Mrs. Earl Rice of Litchfield; two sons: Clarence and Lawrence of Farnam; twelve grandchildren; three brothers: Claude, Walter and Noble of Carlton, Oregon and four sisters: Miss Ann Oberg, Mrs. Edna Duncan and Mrs. John A. Johnson of Yanhill, Oregon, and Mrs. Jacob Nordmo of Indonesia, where she and her husband are missionaries.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Nazarene church with burial in the Farnam cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Lehman, Arch Jorgensen, Martin Habitzel, Ralph Jurjens, Robert Lydic, and Louis Klein. The Olesens were in charge of arrangements.
