Mrs. Z. W. Murphy Passed Away Sunday Morning
Emily Francis Allen was born in Cedar Co. Missouri, March 12, 1844, and died December 14, 1924 at the home of her daughter, near Farnam, Nebr. at the age of eighty years, nine months and two days.
She was married to Zachriah Williams Murphy Nov. 22, 1857. To this union twelve children were born, five of whom are now living. They are Lola Armitage, of Farnam, Nebraska; John Murphy, Weiser, Idaho; Anna Philips, Guthrie, Okla.; Edith Tate, Hot Lakes, Oregon and Maude Foster, Kansas City, Kansas. Her husband and seven children have preceded her in death.
She was converted and become a christian early in life, uniting with the Baptist Missionary church at Humanville, Missouri. In 1876 she moved to Harrison, Arkansas, and joined the Methodist Church where she could be with her children. She was a member of this church until her death.
