Alma (Shaw) Miller
Alma Lillian Shaw, daughter of Angeloah and Mary Shaw was born May 13, 1864 at Trempelean, Wisconsin. She passed away January 11, 1943 at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 29 days.
When she was sixteen, she moved with her parents from Wisconsin to York County, Nebraska. At York she married Adolphus Miller, September 14, 1887. They lived on a farm there until January 1892, when they moved to Dawson County, Nebraska. In 1932, they moved to Farnam, where Mr. Miller passed away in 1933. One son, Archie, also preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Baptist Church from early childhood, a devoted christian, whose steadfast faith not only sustained her but made brighter the lives of those around her. Ever thoughtful of others, she was a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother.
She is survived by her six sons; Angie W., Eustis, Nebraska; Claud I., Atkinson, Nebraska; Walter E., Camp Maxey, Texas; Dean, Camp Claiborne, Louisiana; Elbert E., Wiggins, Colorado, and Hugh of Farnam, Nebraska; three daughters; Mabel Woodard and Lillian Trimble of Los Angeles, California and Dora Foss of Elwood, Nebraska; twenty-four grandchilddren and two great-grandchildren. Her two sisters, Misses Carrie and Nora Shaw live at Miles, Nebraska, and nephew, Angeloah Foster at Eustis, Nebraska.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Farnam on Thursday afternoon at 2:30 pm with Rev. E. H. Tipton officiating and under the direction of the Hugo Mortuary of Gothenburg, Nebraska. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
